Global Fundamental Baptist Missions (GFBM) was founded in 1985 by Dr. Alton Midget Sr. under the leadership and direction of the Lord. Dr. Midgett served for eleven years in Canada as an indigenous church planter, establishing two churches, and a Bible college in Canada that are still active today. As a veteran missionary he is fully aware of the needs of missionaries on deputation, and those who are serving in the field of their calling.
With his burden, experience, and the assistance of Dr. Darrell Hayes, Sr., Dr. Midgett established GFBM as a local church directed mission board as a ministry of Kenwood First Baptist Church, Fayetteville, GA. It is the desire of Dr. Midgett, and everyone at GFBM, to continue in the path of that humble beginning and to serve the Lord and the missionary.
We endeavor to provide a mission organization through which local fundamental Baptist churches can extend their support of fundamental, separated, soul-winning missionaries. We believe, as directed in Acts, chapter thirteen, that only the local church is authorized to send forth missionaries. However, as a fundamental Baptist mission agency, it is our sincere desire to aid the missionary in getting to his field of service, and to assist the missionary in any way possible once he or she reaches the field.
