 Greg, Nathan and Marcy Basch

In 1979, at the age of 32, I heard the gospel, that Jesus Christ died at Calvary fro my sins. A man named Jesse Harris cared enough to explain the gospel to me. He asked if I knew why Jesus died on the cross. I was honest and said No. He then explained it in less than 10 minutes. I Cor 15:1-3. I was a Roman Catholic faithful to Roma and God was calling me. I heard the difference. I later asked God in my backyard at night while gazing at the stars if we could have a relationship before I died. All of a sudden I had a great desire to read the Bible. Before it was tedious to read that large Bible from Rome. I asked God to give me enough time to read the Bible so I could know God. For the next three years I read from beginning to end the Bible. I also attended a Bible study at work in Cleveland, Ohio, at lunch on Mondays. The first passage we studied was John 3:16. Then I realized I had eternal life by accepting Jesus as my Savior. That did it. I knew I was a sinner from my upbringing, but now I saw that I was headed for hell, but God gave me mercy through His grace. God quickened me and gave me faith to believe His Word. "Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift." II Cor 9:15.

My first birthday is May 3rd, 1947. My wife, Marcy's birthday is Nov 1, 1950. Our anniversary is Oct 3rd, 1970. We have four children, but they are on their own by now. The youngest, Nathan, is attending West Coast Bible College, a ministry of Lancaster Baptist Church, pastored by Dr. Paul Chappell. We have five grandchildren.
