January, 2007 In my last
prayer letter I asked you to pray for a lady named Mika. With her
extensive Mormon background she has struggled with the idea of
salvation being free. Her husband and family have attended services
faithfully with her and she is learning each service and says she
understands and believes and even has prayed the sinners prayer, but
she says she doesn't feel saved and thus thinks she must not be. I
ask you to pray for her that God will reveal himself to her and she
will be sure of her salvation. One of our prayers and also subjects of
conversation in our church has been our seating. Currently we have
metal chairs set up in the sanctuary for seating and many people
have commented they are uncomfortable and asked if we could buy
padded chairs or even pillows for each chair in order help these
cold metal seats be more bearable. At this time we have not had the
funds to replace the chairs and have been praying and asking God to
provide more suitable seating and our prayers have been answered. A
missionary friend of ours was asked if he knew anyone in need of
pews and immediately thought of us. He connected us with a pastor
in Kansas that is getting rid of their pews and have offered them to
us. Please pray for us as we need to find the funds
and transportation to get them from Kansas to Idaho before the end
of January. Our Wednesday night Bible Adventure Club for children
has been doing very well and we were blessed to see a teenager and a
child saved in December. Sarah is a teenager we met almost two
years ago when we started this church and lives in the apartments
next door to the church. Sarah is only thirteen but has been in
trouble with the law several times and has a pretty bad home life.
In the past we have invited her to church and our various teen
activities but she has said she is an atheist and has actually come
into church a few times to lure some of our teens out before
services start. She also has followed me around as I visit the
apartments making snide comments and trying to hinder any effort I
make in reaching people for Christ there. My wife, Amy, was very
concerned as Sarah came to one of the Club night's in December and
was expecting Sarah to make trouble. Amy was very surprised as
Sarah sat and listened to story of David and Goliath without
distracting the other children. When a invitation was offered, her
hand was the first one up and upon talking to Amy, she said she was
such a bad sinner that she knew God didn't want anything to do with
her. What a privilege for Amy to open the Bible and lead this child
to Christ. What a mighty God we serve that extends His mercy and
unconditional love to all who will accept it.
Thank You for your support as my family and I continue to serve the
Lord in planting churches and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ
in Idaho.
