Psalm 126:5, “They that sew in tears, shall reap in joy.”  This great promise should cause us to pray for a greater burden for souls and should motivate us to do all that we possibly can to reach a lost world with the Gospel of Christ.

I so appreciate those of you who have been praying for us and have specifically prayed concerning my health.  As you know, the last several months have been difficult and I have been poked and prodded as we searched for answers.  It seems as if we are finally getting some answers as the infectious disease specialists have been running further tests that show an intestinal bacteria.  This is called Whipples Syndrome and is apparently a bacteria that I contracted on one of my trips overseas.  They cannot pinpoint the location as to where this got into my system, but as I told them of my travels to India, Panama, Haiti, the Philippines, etc., they stated that on any one of these trips I could have ingested the bacteria.  At this time, they are treating the problem with strong antibiotics and state that if this works I should not have to undergo further treatment.  Praise the Lord.

Even as I have struggled with my health, we have persisted in the work and are continuing to preach the Gospel and share our burden for India.  The work in India is growing as the national pastors and missionaries spread the Gospel to over 90 villages spanning over one thousand miles.  The orphanage in Hindupur is also seeing growth as we have taken in eight new children in the last month.

I ask that you pray for these precious orphanage children.  As we near the Christmas season, we need to raise funds to provide them with Christmas gifts and a special Christmas dinner.  It is our desire to teach them what Christmas is truly about and to demonstrate the love of Christ.  We cannot afford to be frivolous with the Christmas funds and will use them to buy new clothes and shoes as Christmas gifts for each child.  If you would like to help, please mark Christmas for orphanage in the memo of your check, and allow for the three to four weeks time it will take for the funds to reach India.

Thank you so much for your support of our ministry.  May the Lord bless you, your ministry, and your family beyond what you could expect or hope.

In His Care,

Alton and Gayle Midgett
