January-March 2006
Dear Friends in Christ,
"Thanks be,unto the Lord for his unspeakable gift". We trust that yo~ have had a blessed and safe hQlidayseason. We were able to spend two weeks with Mike's parents in sunny central Florida. We also reported in to two of our supporting churches while there. God gave us an especially blessed time as well as traveling mercies to and from .South Carolina. We are praying for His grace to serve Him more faithfully in the New Year. Though a majority of our churches have been visited, we still have around 20 more to contact. Please pray as we try to finish up this scheduling. The Lord has made it possible for Mike to return to Porto Alegre, February 9th_20th, to participate in an international Fundamentalist conference. During this same time, the apostate World Council of Churches holds its international meeting in Porto Alegre. Pray that we will be able to communicate the distinct difference between Bible Christianity and the worldly, social agenda of the apostates~ Fundamentalist leaders from both North and South America will be participating. Needless to say we are overjoyed that they are corping to our city in Brazil. We also PfC1Y the exposure to our Fundamental Baptist Seminary will encourage others to come and study there. We have asked for prayer for the pastors of two of our congregations: Ponta Grossa and Partenon. The situation has become increasingly more urgent and Mike will be taking some measures during his trip to 'try to help resolve the difficulties. Please pray for wisdom for he and the other missionaries invol~ed. The Lord has answered prayer in sending Zenildo and Edineia to be pastor of the Guaiba congregation. They arrive January 7th to begin laboring.
The second year of the Bible seminary classes finished just before Christmas. We were thrilled by news of Daniel Lima and Jaison's decision to study in the new semester. May the Lord of the harvest continue to call out and send forth laborers into His harvest! . Vacation time is quickly ending and all the Ring children will have to get back to the books. We have enjoyed having all 5 together again. These times will be fewer and farther between as the years go by. But, we are excited to see them growing up and desiring to serve the Lord. Pray for Nathan and Natalie in college and for Noel, Nicholas and Nikayla in their studies as well. We want to thank all of you for the many cards and special gifts sent to us during this holiday season. We were reminded of the tremendous group of "rope holders" that the Lord has raised up to support us through prayers and financial contributions. We are humbled and challenged by your graciousness to us. Thank you so very much. May you have a fruitful year in the harvest as you faithfully serve the Master in 2006. Serving the Savior, Mike Ring and Family
