Dear Family and Friends,

The Holiday Season is upon us!!! Quick… Run and Hide!!  How often has that thought run through your mind as you approach this time of year?  Your thoughts turn to meeting with family that you haven’t seen all year, and in some cases, it is way too soon!!!  On the other hand, it is a great blessing to be with family and friends again and is never soon enough to get together.  While we have been on the road, the Lord has provided us with some of our “heavenly kin” in which to spend the holidays. Those times usually ends up being the best holidays!!

The Lord has been good to us as we traveled through the land on furlough.  We have been blessed to be in many churches that have made us feel at home. We are not treated as strangers but welcome family guests, returning from a trip abroad. And it is a blessing to recount the lessons learned and tell what great things the Lord has done for us in Belarus.

Just recently we heard from our co-laborers, Rick and Marie Whiteside, in Belarus. They have given us a good report and we wanted to share a portion or it with you.

We are still busy here, and enjoying all of the work.  Marie's Bible study with the ladies on Thursday nights has been profitable.  They are going through the book of Esther and examining valuable truths.  Our meetings on Fridays have been well-attended.  Last night we had ten people in our living room!  They are all college students (or recent graduates) and only two that are working at jobs.  We just completed the Experiencing God series of studies and will start a new one next week – Baptist Distinctives.  We want to really do some preparation work for a foundation of church planting, and to start an actual congregation soon.  These young adults (or ones like them) can be the foundation for another work here.  It is critical that they understand who we are and what we believe.

We are eager and excited to get back to the field.  We long to be used of the Lord to spread the Gospel in Belarus. We still plan to return in April and until then we will be mostly in Florida, sharing in churches, of His work in Belarus. Our “family” needs to know that God is still doing great things and wants them to be a part of the work that is continuing until the day of His return.  Please pray that the Lord will allow us to fill the open dates on our calendar.

Let us take this opportunity to thank you for your prayers as we have been on furlough.  You have had a vital part in that as you have brought us before the Lord.  And through you, God has provided our financial needs as well.  Thank you!!!  You’ve been a blessing to us.
