I was born and raised at Clark Air Base, Philippines. My father, MSgt. Marvin R. Gormley, served in the United States Air Force for 30 years and married my Filipino mom, Virginia in 1964; making us 3 children half Italian American and half Filipino.  Our father died in 1976, and we decided to finish college in the islands before migrating to the US.  At 19 years of age, as a third year Pre-Med student, without peace, without hope, and without purpose in life; I found myself empty with the religious structure of the Roman Catholic Church.  I asked God in a short prayer to show me how to go to Heaven on November 5, 1985.  Two days later and six consecutive Saturdays afterwards, a flight line fireman named Andrew McClary, from Clark showed me from the Bible my need of Jesus Christ.  I was gloriously saved on December 18, 1985.  Andrew discipled me and helped me to lead my younger sister to the LORD in January 1986, my mother in April and my older brother in September.  I finished my undergraduate studies on December 17, 1986, and while preparing myself for med school which started on June 1, 1987, I enrolled in the Minor Prophets class of my home church, Hillcrest Baptist Institute.  God called me into the ministry on May 15th out of Haggai 1:4-7.  I served as school administrator in our church school, and preached monthly at the pulpit while my pastor, James Shaw, went to the US for furlough.  When he came back I went to Bible School at Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, MI, where my pastor's pastor, Frank Holman, was then the president on August 19, 1989.  I finished my B.A. Religious Education degree on May 24, 1992 and started deputation to go back as a missionary to the Philippines.  I married Michelle, my college sweetheart, on September 4, 1993.
