The Rings in Brazil April—June-2010
Dear Friends in Christ,
Greetings from Porto Alegre, Brazil, where we are busy preparing for our upcoming furlough. We will be leaving for the states on May 6th, Lord willing. We look forward to visiting many of you between now and Christmas. Our plans are to return to the field at the beginning of 2011. Already 2010 has been a year of many blessings in the church planting ministry here in southern Brazil. Let us share some of the things the Lord is doing so that together we can glorify His name.
Over 300,000 tracts have gone out since August of last year in our evangelistic thrust statewide. More than 200 individual Brazilian believers have participated in the distribution at fairs, farm shows, and Catholic parades. Just recently we have been made aware of more fruit from these efforts. Sandro and his family have started attending one of our sister churches in Canoas. Marco Machado has written requesting a church in his city of Esteio. A young seminary graduate, Daniel Lima, has been further challenged to plant a church in Ururguaiana, in the extreme west of our state, some 400 miles from Porto Alegre. A young couple from the Ponta Grosssa church will be moving there in August. What a blessing to see the Lord opening this door! Our second annual conference Gauchos Para Cristo (Gauchos for Christ) will be held April23rd and 24th. At this time, we will seek to raise the funds to secure the stand at EXPOINTER 2010. Last year, 14 of our congregations provided some 150 people to give out 94,000 tracts. We want to see more done this year for the glory of His dear name. Will you help us pray to this end? One tremendous blessing to us is that the funds for the purchase of these tracts is coming through the giving of these “charged up” Brazilian believers. The website gauchosparacristo.com.br is attracting many new visitors every day and has become an important point of reference for our believers to keep abreast of upcoming evangelistic opportunities.
