Dear Pastors and Ministry Partners, We find it very hard to express with words our heartfelt gratitude for your faithful support of our family and ministry here in the Philippines. In spite of the economic upheavals taking place throughout the world, you have remained faithful. Thank you very much for your fellowship with us through the years. Lamentations 3:26 says it is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. Truly the events around us dictate an imminent return of our Savior, but while we wait let us continue to be busy; putting the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet, the hope of salvation (1Ts 5:8). What a joy it is to serve our Savior while His redemption draweth nigh! Amen!
Another school year came to a close this past March. One of the joys of running a school, aside from seeing the transforming work of Christ through the students, is confronting people with the gospel. Many of our school parents have been saved through our PTA meetings and church services; unfortunately they find it very hard to make salvation public before their relatives who have been blinded by the forms and rituals of religion over the years. Because of our three different commencement exercises, God blessed with the salvation of more than 55 people who would have otherwise never heard a clear gospel presentation. Thanks for the help of our preacher friends, Joel Dayrit, Dennis Potts, and Lowell Griffin. May God continue saving the Filipinos one family after another! Amen!
We seem to battling one delay on top of another in our building program; Satan seems to know how to hinder God’s work while the edifices of the cults sprout up unabated). Lord willing we will finally break ground for our new auditorium this May 1st. Our church has saved close to $75,000 over the last 8 years for this project as a herald to God’s sustaining grace. We extend our deepest thanks to Bible Baptist Church of Fort Mill, SC for their recent love gift of $500 as well. Please pray that God will give us the funds to sustain this work; as God guides He provides! Amen!
Last month, Zion Baptist Church of Clarion, PA sent us 1301 pairs of shoes to be distributed among our members and our daughter churches. Well made footwear is hard to come by, and yet paying a hefty price for poor quality. You can only imagine the shouts of elation and ear to ear smiles of our people (even our seldom seen backsliders came to church again). We are praising God for the salvation of 6 people who came to church last April 10th after they received a gift of shoes. I told our people to remember the promise of Rom 10:15 and use the shods on their feet to bring the gospel of peace to this dying world! Amen!
Please pray for the following upcoming events: Youth Camp this May 2-6th , that God may use Pastor John Brent Stancil to challenge our people and charge our youth to answer God’s call to ministry (God’s prayer request for more laborers still stands in Matt 9:38). For the salvation and discipleship of many new prospects from our DVBS this May 22-27th. Lastly, help us in praying for more ministry partners as we head to our June 2012 furlough. We plan to be home June 2012 until 2013; we hope to have a well mapped out schedule in order to be able to visit as many of you as we can. There are many things to prepare for furlough: vehicle, housing, schooling for the girls, leaders to be left behind here in the Philippines. Please do keep us in your prayers that God would guide and direct our steps.
